Thank you for your interest in Dawn Suite 1 by Gail Taylor!
“Art is a gift to the viewer of another set of eyes,” says Gail Gash Taylor, American painter and printmaker based in New Mexico. Part of the series Dawn Suite, this print perfectly represents Taylor's belief quoted above. With meticulous attention to depth and detail, Taylor depicts a cloud-like form of woven fabric. Inspired by print views of Mount Fuji and the subtle differences between the sky in each picture, the artist wanted to create a series that captured slight variations in the sky. Dawn Suite so beautifully conveys these nuances. In this print, the cloud veil hovers just above the surface of the paper, its fine lines sparkling in the light, creating an ethereal effect that emanates from the work. With “another set of eyes,” she offers an original view of the material -- one that is amoebic, atmospheric, and ultimately captivating.
Taylor’s artwork is in more than fifty public collections, including more than fifteen national and international museums. Her work has been exhibited throughout Europe, Latin America, China, and across the United States, including at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. She holds a MFA from the University of Cincinnati, a MS from Illinois State University, and a BFA, magna cum laude, from Illinois Wesleyan University. Taylor is the recipient of an Arts America Grant for lectures and workshops in Europe, as well as a National Endowment for the Arts Grant on the national level. She has also collaborated with the renowned Tamarind Institute.
Dawn Suite 3 is an entrancing color lithograph by Gail Gash Taylor, measuring 15 x 20 inches. It is the tenth print from an edition of ten, and is priced at $1,200 before tax and shipping. Please let me know if I can answer any questions, send images, or be of assistance as you think about this acquisition.
