Artist Talk: Robert Storr: 12–1 P.M.
On 10 January 2026, 12–1 P.M., join us for an artist talk with renowned curator, critic, and artist, Robert Storr. Storr’s decades of scholarship, curation, and painting offer perspectives on art seldom shared in such an intimate setting as our gallery. Curator of SITE Santa Fe’s fifth international, Disparities & Deformations: Our Grotesque, Storr returns to Santa Fe to discuss his current capsule retrospective, For Piet’s Sake—Old and New Paintings, comprising paintings made in the late 1970s and 1980s before embarking on his international curatorial practice, panels made in 2020 and 2021 that he cites having “realized in fits and starts during the arduous course of the past years” as his “barrier reef against the tsunami of negativity we’ve all endured,” and paintings of blocks and bands of colors completed last year. Included in his exhibition are drawings from 2024 that served as the basis for Celebesstraat, a portfolio of prints published by Zane Bennett Contemporary Art and printed by Santa Fe-based master printer, James Bourland.
