Join us for the artist talk of Janet Abrams, Cranbrook Academy of Art alumna and renowned art, architecture and design critic, in connection with her debut solo exhibition, Balancing Acts. Abrams will discuss becoming an artist in midlife; the art historical lineage of her sculptures; her explorations of gravity, light, and precariousness; and the interplay between the organic and the scientific in her methods and processes. Abrams looks toward the handmade, the tactile, and the physical as means of recuperation and reconnection, in an era of increasing digital dissociation.
