Opening Reception | Structures that Shape Us: Roberto Cardinale: 5–7 p.m.
Forthcoming event
Overview
435 S. Guadalupe St.
Join us on 25 September, 5–7 p.m., for the opening reception of Structures That Shape Us, an exhibition of eleven sculptures by artist and former Benedictine monk Roberto Cardinale.
Inspired by churches across the American Southwest, the East Coast, and Europe, Cardinale’s meticulously researched sculptures explore how architecture carries histories of faith, cultural exchange, conflict, and memory. With a particular focus on the Spanish architecture of the American Southwest, his work considers the complex convergence of Indigenous, regional, and imperial histories that inform the environment in which we live.
