Panel Discussion | "Modern Regionalism and the Myth of a Santa Fe Style": 2 p.m.

7 November 2026
Overview
435 S. Guadalupe St.

Join us for a panel discussion on Southwestern architecture moderated by Integral Studios principal Dr. Glenn Robert Erikson, PhD, on Saturday, November 7, at 2 p.m. Informed by Chris Wilson’s survey of Santa Fe architectural history and style, The Myth of Santa Fe: Creating a Modern Regional Tradition, this panel brings together architects and industry professionals to discuss the intersection of cultural heritage, history, modern regionalism, and architecture. Hosted within Powerhouse: The Engaged Regionalism of Judith Chafee's Architecture, this discussion explores when building preservation becomes speculative restoration and how social, cultural, and economic forces influence regional building styles. Hear practicing architects consider how these forces inform and challenge the modern regionalist environments they build today.

Professor and author Chris Wilson will be in attendance.
