Acclaimed Santa Fe-based sculptor and jewelry artist Debra Baxter is one of 25 artists to receive the prestigious Joan Mitchell Foundation 2019 Painters & Sculptors Grant, which provides recipients with $25,000 each in unrestricted funds. Selected through a tiered process of nomination and jurying, the Painters & Sculptors Grants seek to recognize artists who are making exceptional work, who are deserving of greater acknowledgment on a national level, and who will benefit from the recognition and funding that the award provides.
Debra Baxter has been a represented artist of form & concept since its inception (Zane Bennett Contemporary Art), and has shown in various group shows at the gallery. Baxter will curate a special exhibition centered on women in the arts at form & concept (Zane Bennett Contemporary Art) in July of 2020.
