Spotlight: Robert Zakanitch
Pattern & Decoration is on the rise. The ravishing upstart movement of the mid-1970s, founded in opposition to the era's overriding machismo within Minimalist and Modernist circles, is making a comeback thanks to major exhibitions at MOCA New York and Bard College. Discover lush works on paper by P&D cofounder Robert Zakanitch.
Just in: Danielle Orchard
"I became interested in revealing to the viewer the empathy I felt while borrowing and re-narrating these female motifs." Danielle Orchard may be drawn to the muses of Picasso and Matisse, but her own female figure is decidedly a woman of today.
Just In: Chris Ofili
Chris Ofili draws inspiration from his home base of Trinidad-Tobago in this fantastical print. Using color spit bite, a notoriously tricky technique, the artist depicts a figure under the second-highest waterfall of the island country. With open arms, the amorphous subject at once rises and falls.
