Created for the 2006 Convergence (organized by the Handweavers Guild of America), "Chickasaw Crow Woman" is one of a pair Wheeler designed in response to the biennial theme, “Make a grand entrance.” The weave structure for the jacket is MW twill—a pattern Wheeler designed to showcase the repetition of her initials. Wheeler’s daughter-in-law and granddaughter assisted with stringing the beads for the breastplate that attaches on either side of the jacket with zippers. The shape of the hat is based on the beaver hats represented in paintings by T.C. Cannon.
