Sculptor Louise Nevelson distinguished herself from her male contemporaries by crafting puzzle-like assemblages and towering abstract architectures out of discarded wood. The American artist was also an accomplished printmaker and made her first lithographs as an artist fellow at Tamarind Institute in 1963. Familiar textiles create unearthly abstract landscapes in her radical printing practice. Delicate cheesecloth and lace patterns appear in this print, titled Beyond and Beyond I.
