Jon Greene's precise, laborious lithographs usually take a moment to adjust to. Greene's signature compositional style makes use of line and angle to craft fantastical tableaux of imagined cityscapes. These uncanny interpretations of mundane textures and commonplace forms result in surprisingly slippery architectural representations that challenge the mind and celebrate color.
A new suite of these works debuted in Arrivals 2023 at form & concept, and so we sat down with Jon Greene while the artist was teaching at Colorado College to talk about his lifelong interest in art and the coalescence of craft and creativity in printmaking to kick off our video series, On Printmaking.
