A Closer Look at Josef Albers' LegacyOp art, or optical art, was the defining art movement of the 60s. Characterized by repeating shapes, forms, lines, and colors, op art creates optical illusions. Catalyzed by artist and color theorist Josef Albers, the movement explored the nature of perception and humanity's relationship to art.
